My Mini Blog

March 31, 2019

Spent a quiet Sunday evening listing NEW domestic items on my website. Tomorrow I will add some images ( I only have the Digital images for now) and also show the items finished.

All these new items are in someway domestic items. I love the simplicity of some of the designs and have always wanted to start a collection of what would describe as high quality realistic "essentials". I have more to list; a table, a set of old saucepans and frying pans, and a plunger (posser is the correct name but not well known).

All items (excluding the sink) are made from metal and can either be polished or painted.

I shall keep you posted when I have the "real thing" photographed.

Architectural cornice etc

I am going to be listing some of the cornicing including elements of the room below. I shall keep you updated.

The Follie

Just a little update - it has been printed! Or at least 95% has been printed. One wall was wonky so is being reprinted. Parts of it will be made from wood but these can not be created...

In my old life, many years ago, I used to be a teacher so it is with some excitment that  I can announce that I shall be running a days workshop at the forthcoming show in Holland organised by the wonderful Rika.

During this workshop you will learn several finishing techniques such as aging wood, painting a wooden finish onto resin and gilding. You can choose two pieces of furniture from my collection to work on but will also upholster an 18th century chair

You can choose any two items from:

1. French table,

2.  French Console table,

3. large French console table,

4. mirror

5. bed.

If you choose to decorate the bed then there is a € 20 extra fee in addition to the  price.

In addition to your two items of furniture you will also work on and upholster an 18th century chair.

I will supply some fabric (Silk, Toile cotton and pretty French cotton )but you may have your own.

I am hoping that the day will be great fun and a learning experience. It wont be just a case of copying my techniques. We shall e...

HI guys..this is my first blog ever but I wanted to tell you about me and my minis and let you into what I do, what I like and maybe share a few little things with you.....

Today I am struggling with design v's construction. My little mini chair and sofa is developing nicely but I hit a bit of a barrier - the silk edging is showing which means that I am going to have to modify the original slightly.....This is a prototype and I shall need to modify before I can sell any....

I love little French chairs...this one is a particular favourite as it is slightly larger than the normal French Armchair and is more relaxing. The little curved legs and detailing at the top work well I think.....or maybe that is one for you to judge when it is finished...wont be long I hope....
